About RadiSys Boards

COM Express Modules

Support for legacy RadiSys COM Express modules used with carrier boards, application-specific baseboards, and embedded system designs.

CompactPCI & cPCI Boards

Support for RadiSys CompactPCI processor boards, peripheral processor boards, and chassis-based embedded platforms.

AdvancedTCA / ATCA Platforms

Support for RadiSys ATCA boards, compute blades, rear transition modules, and related telecom or network infrastructure platforms.

CPU Boards, SBCs & Telecom Motherboards

Support for RadiSys CPU boards, single board computers, telecom motherboards, and legacy embedded processing platforms.

When a RadiSys Board Fails

A failed or unstable RadiSys board can affect the larger embedded, telecom, medical, or chassis-based system it supports. The issue may appear as boot failure, module startup problems, missing I/O, backplane communication errors, carrier-board incompatibility, network or storage faults, intermittent operation, or software-level instability. Because many RadiSys platforms are standards-based and revision-sensitive, replacement should be reviewed for module type, backplane architecture, carrier-board design, firmware, BIOS, I/O, and system compatibility.

Boot, Startup, or Module Failure

The RadiSys board or module may fail to power on, complete POST, detect memory or storage, initialize interfaces, or load the operating system.

Backplane, Carrier, or I/O Issues

CompactPCI slots, ATCA shelves, COM Express carrier boards, Ethernet, storage, serial, USB, display, or expansion interfaces may stop working correctly.

Obsolete or Revision-Sensitive Platform

The original RadiSys board may be discontinued, revision-sensitive, or difficult to replace without checking firmware, BIOS, carrier-board, backplane, and application requirements.

Where RadiSys Boards Are Used

RadiSys boards are used in long-life systems that require embedded computing, modular expansion, high availability, and dependable system continuity. These platforms may include telecom infrastructure, medical appliances, communications systems, network equipment, CompactPCI chassis, AdvancedTCA platforms, COM Express carrier-board systems, and specialized OEM equipment.

Telecom & Communications Platforms

Used in infrastructure systems that require reliable processing, modular architecture, network connectivity, and long-term platform support.

Medical Appliances & Embedded Systems

Used in medical and embedded appliances where operating system support, I/O behavior, firmware, and application compatibility matter.

CompactPCI, ATCA & Modular Chassis Systems

Used in chassis-based systems where backplane communication, slot behavior, compute modules, and installed cards must remain compatible.

How Embedded Repair Labs Can Help

Evaluation Review

We review the RadiSys part number, symptoms, photos, board type, chassis, shelf, carrier-board, backplane, operating system, and system application.

Repair Support

Where practical, we support repair paths for failed, unstable, intermittent, or damaged RadiSys boards and modules.

Replacement Guidance

If repair is not practical, we help identify compatible replacement options, equivalent modules, boards, or alternate sourcing paths.

Functional Testing

Where applicable, repaired or supplied RadiSys boards are checked for startup and functional behavior before return.

Before You Send a RadiSys Board Request

For faster review, include the RadiSys part number, board type, fault symptoms, quantity, chassis or shelf information, carrier-board or backplane details, operating system, installed expansion cards or modules, and clear photos of the board. If the board is obsolete or unavailable, include any firmware, BIOS, connector, slot, module, I/O, or compatibility requirements.
