When a Kontron Board Fails

A failed or unstable Kontron board can affect the larger embedded system, industrial computer, carrier-board platform, CompactPCI chassis, VME system, or OEM equipment it supports. The issue may appear as boot failure, power instability, missing I/O, communication faults, backplane errors, carrier-board incompatibility, intermittent operation, display failure, or application-level instability. Because many Kontron boards are used in long-life systems, replacement should be reviewed for form factor, module type, connector, backplane, BIOS, firmware, revision, I/O, and system compatibility.
