About NEXCOM Boards

Industrial Motherboards

Support for legacy NEXCOM u-ATX, ATX, Mini-ITX, and related industrial motherboard platforms used in industrial computers, edge systems, and mission-critical equipment.

PICMG Single Board Computers

Support for NEXCOM PICMG 1.0 and PICMG 1.3 SBCs used in backplane-based industrial chassis and long-life embedded computing systems.

Embedded Computing Boards

Support for NEXCOM embedded boards used in automation systems, robotics, medical equipment, smart city devices, AI image processing, and specialized OEM platforms.

COM Express & Module Platforms

Support for NEXCOM COM Express modules and carrier-board-based systems where connector type, BIOS, I/O, chipset, and carrier-board compatibility must be reviewed.

When a NEXCOM Board Fails

A failed or unstable NEXCOM board can affect the larger industrial computer, embedded platform, edge device, automation system, medical device, transportation system, backplane chassis, carrier-board system, or OEM machine it supports. The issue may appear as boot failure, power instability, missing I/O, communication faults, display failure, storage detection problems, PCIe or PICMG expansion issues, intermittent operation, overheating, or application-level instability. Because many NEXCOM boards are used in long-life and open-standard platforms, replacement should be reviewed for form factor, chipset, BIOS, PICMG version, module type, I/O layout, operating system, carrier-board, backplane, and enclosure compatibility.

Power, Boot, or Startup Failure

The board may fail to power on, complete POST, retain BIOS settings, detect memory, recognize storage, initialize display output, or load the operating system.

I/O, Display, or Expansion Problems

Ethernet, serial ports, USB, display outputs, LVDS, storage interfaces, PCIe, PICMG slots, COM Express carrier interfaces, or system-specific connections may stop working correctly.

Obsolete or Compatibility-Sensitive Platform

The original NEXCOM board may be discontinued, revision-sensitive, or difficult to replace without checking BIOS, chipset, I/O, form factor, module, carrier-board, backplane, or enclosure requirements.

Where NEXCOM Boards Are Used

NEXCOM boards are commonly used in systems that require dependable embedded computing, industrial I/O, open-standard integration, modular expansion, compact form factors, and long-term hardware continuity. These systems may include factory automation, robotics, cybersecurity appliances, digital healthcare platforms, transportation systems, edge computing devices, smart city equipment, industrial PCs, medical platforms, test systems, and specialized OEM machines.

Factory Automation & Robotics

Used in equipment that requires stable processing, industrial I/O, expansion support, and dependable embedded computing for machine-level operation.

Cybersecurity, Edge & Network Platforms

Used in systems where connectivity, storage, PCIe expansion, network interfaces, thermal behavior, and uptime are important.

Healthcare, Transportation & OEM Systems

Used in platforms where operating system support, I/O layout, display behavior, enclosure fit, and long-term compatibility matter.

How Embedded Repair Labs Can Help

Evaluation Review

We review the NEXCOM part number, symptoms, photos, board type, form factor, PICMG version, module type, chassis, backplane, carrier-board details, operating system, and system application.

Repair Support

Where practical, we support repair paths for failed, unstable, intermittent, or damaged NEXCOM boards and modules.

Replacement Guidance

If repair is not practical, we help identify compatible replacement options, equivalent boards, modules, or alternate sourcing paths.

Functional Testing

Where applicable, repaired or supplied NEXCOM boards are checked for startup and functional behavior before return.

Before You Send a NEXCOM Board Request

For faster review, include the NEXCOM part number, board type, fault symptoms, quantity, system model, operating system, application or equipment where the board is used, and clear photos of the board. If the board is obsolete or unavailable, include any required form factor, BIOS, I/O, PICMG standard, module, connector, carrier-board, backplane, or enclosure compatibility requirements.
